Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley

2010

  • Appellation: Napa Valley
  • Aging: 2 years in French Oak
  • Alcohol: 15.0
  • Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Olive Branch

A deep ruby color with rich aromas of dark chocolate, boysenberry, dark cherry and mint. Complex, layered flavors of black cherry, Santa Rosa plum, dark chocolate, and mint. Full-bodied and intense. This wine is well balanced with bright acidity; firm, lingering tannins and a long finish.

Vineyard Notes

This wine is an example of a classic and elegant Napa Cabernet. The fruit comes from vineyards in Rutherford and Oak Knoll AVAs. More great Cab comes from Rutherford than other Napa appellations. The soils are generally deep, loamy and well-draining, producing rich wines with black cherry, plum and herbal characteristics. Oak Knoll in the southern part of the valley has an ideal climate. Not too warm nor too cool, grapes ripen with ideal balance of sugar and acid.

Food Pairing Notes

Enjoy this outstanding wine with grilled ribeye steaks, roasted leg of lamb or prime rib. Our Reserve Cabernet also complements fine cheese plates - try with Brie, manchego or hard, aged cheddars.

Production Notes

The 2010 vintage was cooler than normal during the growing season. A long, dry winter and cool spring were followed by a mild summer, with severe heat waves in August and September, then rain during Harvest in October. The resulting fruit had a long hangtime, high acid and lower sugars and well-developed flavors.
