Vineyard Notes
2018 was a truly exceptional year for ripening grapes. Winter started out with very little rainfall, which made growers worry that it may be another year of drought. When March arrived, however, it brought along the much-needed rainfall that helped fill the root zone, water table and some reservoirs. The vines came out of winter dormancy and began the season with ample water and abundant sunshine.
Food Pairing Notes
Enjoy our Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with a butterflied leg of lamb or lamb steak with rosemary. Also delicious alongside a cheese board with gorgonzola, aged cheddar and gouda.
Production Notes
Winemakers across Napa Valley reported another stellar harvest for 2016. Bud break began early due to a warm spring, and the summer then brought moderate daytime temperatures with cool evenings. Harvest started early, in mid-August, and progressed at a steady pace. October ushered in a few rain showers that put a swift end to a successful harvest.
