Olive Branch

The glass presents intertwining aromatics of crushed violets, wild berries and dried herbs. Abela is wrapped in a delicately perfumed, feminine elegance that has been a defining attribute from its inception.

The wine unfolds on the palate in waves of dark berry, cocoa, anise, sweet oak and finely structured, integrated tannins. The overriding impressions are those of finesse, balance, approachability and subtle power. The fine liquorice finish lingers on the palate, persuading you for more.

Vineyard Notes

The Abela vineyard is a small alluvial fan, on which we have planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. This vineyard was replanted to the current vines from 2002 through 2004. The vineyard is well drained, putting more control into the hands of our vineyard and winemaking teams. The wines from Abela boast beautiful structure and color with very refined tannins.

Production Notes

The Abela vineyard is located on our estate in the Rutherford appellation, which has an unsurpassed reputation for producing world-class Cabernets. The appellation is located in the center of Napa Valley and boasts well-drained soils that promote intense flavors in the finished wine.
