The 2019 Reserve Petit Verdot opens with a bouquet of dried plums, and black cherries, layered upon baking spices, vanilla, and cocoa powder. On the palate, you are met with ripe blackberry, sage, and toasted oak with a silky touch. This is a full-bodied wine with well-structured tannins and a long lingering finish.

Vineyard Notes
The 2019 Growing Season began with heavy rains which enriched the soil with an abundance of nutrients. Fruit set was on course during the spring, just in time for the brief heat spike in June and the remaining summer warm weather. Harvest began in mid-August when only the finest fruit was harvested.
Food Pairing Notes
We recommend enjoying this Petit Verdot with rich foods, such as beef stew or wild game. This robust wine also pairs well with roasted rack of lamb and well-aged cheeses.
Production Notes
Petit Verdot is prized for its rich color and highly structured tannins, making it simultaneously elegant and bold. The source for this Petit Verdot is our Abela vineyard, which is adjacent to the winery. Our winemaking team also included a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon to help polish the mid-palate of this wine.
