The winter of 2016-2017 broke the drought for most of California. Napa Valley received much needed rainfall throughout the season, totaling almost 60 inches of rain. The vines responded with full, healthy canopies for the long growing season. The weather was warm and sunny all season, which allowed the fruit to ripen at a slow and steady pace.
Food Pairing Notes
We recommend enjoying this Reserve Malbec with a cheese board of Manchego, English Aged Cheddar and Spanish Chorizo, followed by grilled salmon, braised brisket or marinated skirt steak. For a special treat, serve with savory smoked duck. Finish the meal with a rich salted dark chocolate!
While this intense varietal is often used in blends, our winemaking team decided to highlight the unique characteristic of the varietal in this carefully crafted Reserve Malbec. This wine was hand-selected from individual barrels to showcase the beautifully deep color, soft mouthfeel and vibrant fruit that are distinctively Malbec.
