Our 2014 Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from our family’s two vineyards located in the Rutherford sub-appellation of Napa Valley. This Cabernet Sauvignon is derived from both our Abela Estate (50%) and our Franklin Estate vineyards. Both vineyards are sustainably farmed and certified under the CCSW - Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing.
Food Pairing Notes
Enjoy our Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with a decadent Osso Buco, venison risotto or pasta with a smooth blue cheese and cream sauce.
The winter of 2013-2014 was one of the driest in California's history with Napa Valley receiving only half of its average rainfall. But, with respect to grape quality, there was good news: heavy rains in February and early March gave the vines emerging from dormancy a rejuvenating boost. Furthermore, the overall dry season resulted in smaller berry size with concentrated characteristics that added depth to the fruit's inherent flavors. This wine is cellar ready - enjoy for the next 15 years.
