Our 2017 Abela Red Wine represents a unique opportunity to experience a limited release Napa Valley red blend that is crafted from Estate-grown fruit. For this vintage, we paired Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot to create an elegant and distinctive blend.

The 2017 growing season, began with ample rainfall, followed by a moderate Spring resulting in extended flowering with minimal shatter. Harvest began with a Labor Day weekend heatwave, then cool weather allowed sugar levels to return to normal. The vines responded with full, healthy canopies for the long growing season.

While the Rutherford appellation is celebrated for producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, we have meticulously selected and cultivated clones of several other red varietals that are ideally suited to the Estate’s terroir.
