Black currant, black cherry, strawberry, mocha and allspice.
Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum
2013
- Appellation: Rutherford
- Aging: 24 months in French Oak
- Alcohol: 14.5%
Vineyard Notes
The vineyard’s Pleasanton Series soil produces fruit characterized by earthy aromas, flavors of black currant and the ideal tannin structure necessary for extended aging. Hand-selected lots were harvested to produce only 250 cases of individually numbered bottles of this outstanding vintage.
The wine is luscious and full-bodied with fine-grained tannins. It is ready to be enjoyed now but with thoughtful storage, will continue to evolve in flavor and character through 2030.
Food Pairing Notes
Pairs well with roast duck, spicy tuna tartar or grilled ribeye steak.
Production Notes
Franklin 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from our family’s Franklin estate vineyard in Napa Valley’s Rutherford appellation. Of the valley’s 16 AVAs (American Viticultural Area), the region’s terroir has an unsurpassed reputation for producing world-class Cabernets. The eight-acre vineyard, bordered by the Silverado Trail and Zinfandel Lane, forms the appellation’s northeast corner. Environmentally-sensitive farming methods insure that the property’s creek, a major passageway for steelhead trout and chinook salmon, maintains its healthy, pristine condition, unsullied by harmful chemical fertilizers.
