Production Notes

2015 was the fourth year of the drought for California. Napa was spared from the worst of it due to the accumulation of winter rains, bringing about 75% of the normal precipitation. The growing season started off warm and early. Bud break was two to three weeks ahead of normal. The weather changed to cool and windy which affected the amount of fruit to grow and harvest. The low crop yield combined with drought conditions and warm sunny weather gave us one of the earliest harvests in recent memory. The wines from 2015 show remarkable concentration. The reds have exceptional tannic structure that will resolve themselves in the years to come.
